(September 5, 2004) The source of these words has been a mystery up till now for etymologists.
Dog: from D.G meaning "Manifestation Energy.: Manifestations are the fertilization or triggering of life forms. This is apparently from male dogs using humping to show dominance.
Hog, Pig: from H.G and P.G meaning "Hu's Energy" and "The Opener's Energy." The sun and storm god Hu is often called the "Opener" in later runic texts because he opens the life powers on earth. Pigs opened the earth to find their nuts and roots.
Stag: from S.T.G meaning "Su's astrology-magic energy." The Old Norse equivalent was used of male foxes, tomcats, and dragons. Su was the dark new moon and pupil of the eye representing the source of emotions. This phrase is explicitly referencing his celestial aspect as the source of sexual emotions.
Frog, Frig: Old English frogga and Old Norse Frigg: Akkadian UR.IG.G meaning Dawn/Birth.Eye-of-Fate's.Energy or "Birth of Su's energy." This is a reference to Su's feminine companion Selu/Selene as the celestial light goddess. Su is the dark moon god and source of motion/emotion power. Selene allocates or gives birth to that power. Frogs greet and say goodbye to the moon at dusk and dawn.

This bone was found in an urn at Caistor St. Edmund, Norfolk, England in 1937. It came from a roe-deer astragalus, which is its ankle bone. The text style is early Danish (150-700 CE). So this would date it to around 500 CE shortly after the Romans left Britain.
Comment: The dark new moon god Su is the source of astrology-magic and all non-fate motion powers. His scavengers are probably all the energy animals which included, pigs, dogs, stags, and frogs (all words which have /g/ endings in English). A roe-deer would be classed as a stag. See Druid Energy Animals.

Comment: The letter assignments are completely wrong and were made to fit this one example. Letter assignments must come from a chart validated against many different texts from the same time and place.
