(November 29, 2025) Macalister reports that this stone now stands in the churchyard just E. of the church porch. It was outside the churchyard in 1872 (according to Blight, page 10) , having been taken from a hedge in the neighborhood where it had served as a support for a railing. Holes were drilled through it for the purpose.
It is made of granite being 4′ 31″ × 2′ 1″ × 0' 10".
The image is that of an equalateral Druid Cross meaning "astrology-magic." This is also supported by the text.
(January 10, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was built into the wall of an outbuilding of a farm above Rialton Priory. There are other carved stones (not inscribed) similarly used in the building, all said to have come from the Priory. The inscription was pocked on the face and is in fair condition.
It is a close-grained granite block having exposed surface dimensions: 5' 7" x 1' 8"
(January 10, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was found being used as a building- stone in the outside face of the west wall of the church tower.
It is a block of granite, more closely grained than is usual having an exposed face of 4' 2" × 1' 8"
(January 10, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone formerly stood on the cross-road midway between St. Endellion and Port Quin on a base, which still remains in its original position. It then went by the name of "Long Cross." It has now been moved to a very weather exposed place in front of a castellated summer-house, on Doydon Headland; and in consequence it is suffering severely from the weather.
The small ogham inscription is too disintegrated for certainty. A mortice has been cut in the top, 3/4" deep, and 3" x 4" across.
At the top of this stone is an equilateral cross which as the old Druid Akkadian letter "T" which is the word for astrology-magic. The runic text on this stone is about astrology-magic.
The stone is granite being 4' 6" x 0' 11" x 0' 8"
(January 11, 2026) Where their letters overlap both runic and Latin inscriptions used the same letter styles. This is an important example of a Latin grave stone from the same time frame as the runic stones.
Macalister reports that this stone was found in 1843, somewhere close to the place where it is at present. Near it was a stone-lined grave, "6 or 8 feet long" filled “with a mixture of sand, charcoal, and ashes, and entirely covered with a loose heap of stones, the top of which was considerably beneath the surface of the ground. For its preservation it was set upright in a wall close by.
Its original dimensions were 6′0″ × 1' 0" × 0' 8", with a blank space below the inscription apparently about 2′ 6″ long. The stone has now been cut down to 4' 1" x 0' 11 "- thickness undeterminable , as it is fixed in the revetment wall of a bank beside a pathway in a small public park.
(January 11, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was discovered in the burnt ruins of the old church of St. Hilary which was destroyed by fire in 1853. Also found in the ruins was a Roman miliary inscription from the time of Constantine. This stone was acting as a foundation stone in the chancel of the old church and is now set up just inside the churchyard gate to the E. of the entrance.
It is made of granite having dimensions of 6′ 6″ × 1' 8" x 0' 10". The top 2 letters of line 1 (A and N) and top letter of line 2 (A) have been decorated in a way seen in the illustrated Book of Kells dating to the 800's. This book consists of the 4 Biblical gospels written in Latin.
(January 12, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was discovered in the parish church in the year 1834. It is now preserved in the north aisle just inside the N. door. One of its sides has the equilateral cross representing "astrology magic." This was the runic letter "T" in older runic texts.
It is a block of granite being 3′ 5″ × 1′ 2″ × 0' 10".

(January 12, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was reportedly used as a footbridge, but it was dislodged by a flood of its stream. It was recovered in 1924 by the vicar (Rev. H. Dalton Jackson) and is now preserved in the parish church .
It is a block of granite 2′ 4 3/4″ × 1′ 2″ × 1′ 1"
(January 12, 2026) Macalister reports that this stone was discovered on a rockery in the rectory garden, in the year 1891, and now set up at the entrance to the churchyard.
The image is the equilateral cross representing astrology magic over a double dome representing the sky-shell and its associated life powers of Hu and Ayu. The text speaks about how the life powers can resist the fate revelations of astrology-magic.
It is made of granite being 5′ 9″ × 1' 11" × 1′ 0″.
(January 12, 2026) Macalister reports that according to the Victoria County History (1 : 416) it was formerly called "The Long Stone" and stood at Castledor in the parish of Tywardreath, two miles north of its present position. But Borlase quotes Leland to the effect that in his time it was a mile from Castledor.
It stood at the crossways shortly before 1769, but was then removed and deposited in a ditch. On the summit of the stone there is a mortice-it may be for receiving a later cross, or the shaft of a set of finger- posts. An ordnance - Survey bench-mark has been cut on the stone just under the S of FILIVS.
It is now erected on two stone steps in the middle of the cross -roads called " Four Turnings (Lostwithiel - Fowey - Par Station - Bodinnick). The inscription is cut and rubbed on the south face and is much disintegrated. It is made of granite being 8′ 6″ × 1′ 9″ × 1′ 4″.
